Sensing the upswing in audience preferences for mythologicals and epics, Amrita TV is about to launch the mega serial, Om Namah Shivaya in Malayalam. The show is slotted as a weekday evening fare from June 2 .Filmed as a sweeping epic using stylistic sets and a large cast with period costumes,the serial is an engaging recreation of the stories and values embodied in the life and times of Lord Siva. Om Namah Shivaya is directed by Dheeraj Kumar and set to music by Sharang Dev. Amrita TV continues to experiment with various genres attuned to audience tastes. Popular mythologicals which are tastefully made with value-based storylines have become good vehicles for wholesome family entertainment, engaging both the young and old--and hence the space for more in this genre.
