TELETUBBIES

Teletubbies was a BBC children's television series targeted at pre-school viewers and produced from 1997 to 2001 by Ragdoll Productions. It was created by Ragdoll's creative director Anne Wood CBE and Andrew Davenport, who wrote each of the show's 365 episodes. The program's original narrator was Tim Whitnall. Teletubbies first aired on 31 March 1997, was syndicated in the United States on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) public television on 6 April 1998 and aired until 19 June 2005. In 2001 production was canceled and it was announced that no new episodes would be produced, with the last episode being aired on 5 January 2001. However, a total of 365 episodes had been produced – enough for a full year. The series was one of four PBS shows to be taken off its regular airing, the other shows being Boohbah (in 2005), Reading Rainbow (in 2006) and Mister Rogers Neighborhood (in 2008).

Teletubbies, particularly notable for its high production values, rapidly became a critical and commercial success in Britain and abroad and won a BAFTA in 1998.Teletubbies Everywhere was awarded "Best Pre-school Live Action Series" at the 2002 Children's BAFTA Awards.

The program revolves around the adventures of Teletubbies, fictional humanoid beings whose bodies are fairly round and pudgy and covered in a bright solid-color fleece-like fur, all but their large-eyed childlike faces. Teletubbies have in the center of their belly a television monitor that they receive video messages on, and on their head they have a single antenna. Tinky Winky is purple, Dipsy is green, Laa-Laa is yellow, and Po is red. In the show, the four colourful Teletubbies play in the cheerful and fun Teletubbyland. They do things that little children like to do, such as rolling on the grass, laughing, running about, and watching real children on the televisions on their bellies. Mysterious pinwheels and a speaker rise out of the meadow to announce the days' activities. The sun, which is superimposed of live-action video of a smiling, giggling baby's face, occasionally responds to the antics of the main characters. It also rises and sets to begin and end the show.

Although the program is aimed at children between the ages of one and four, it had a substantial cult following with older generations, mainly university and college students. The mixture of bright colours, unusual designs, repetitive non-verbal dialogue, ritualistic format, and the occasional forays into physical comedy appealed to a demographic who perceived the program as having psychedelic qualities. Teletubbies was controversial for this reason. Other critics felt the show was insufficiently educational.

The program was also at the centre of a controversy when American cleric and conservative pundit Jerry Falwell claimed in 1999 that Tinky Winky, one of the Teletubbies, was a homosexual role model for children. Falwell based this conclusion on the character's purple colour and triangular antenna; both the colour purple and the triangle are sometimes used as symbols of the Gay Pride movement. It was also noted that Tinky Winky often carried a red handbag. However, despite an ensuing boycott,[clarification needed] the program remained in production for two more years. 'Teletubbies say "Eh-oh!"', a single based on the show's theme song, reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart in December 1997 and remained in the Top 75 for 32 weeks, selling over a million copies.

Gopichand jasoos starring Raj Kapoor, is probably a hilarious remake of Inspector gadget of Indian cinema, Raj kapoor in a detective role makes more fun of himself than he makes the movie look funny, This

movie clearly showed the raj kapoor we knew was faded and was over his head but to make this movie as his last starring movie, he comprised of other great funny cast, zeenat aman is in the movie as a his sidekick, Raj Kapoor fading away quickly after this movie and and met his end in 1986 after making his film Ram Teri Ganga Meili in 1985 and winning the best director for it.

This movie takes things rather in a most unusal ways, the plot is an okay one, but its preety much a goofy plot, a mob boss dies and he has taken a pack of diamonds with him in his coffin, now everybody from the gang is after the pouch and the chase begins, turns out zeenat is the daughter of that mob boss and he is helped by gopi(raj kapoor) to find those diamonds, its turs out she becomes his side kick for a while and gopi is leading the op.

The music and songs are pretty much skipable. They don’t have any reason to be in there, its just in it to make movie extend for the time being.

No real perfomance here, just plane ole dummies, running around in circles, The movie is only worth the mention is because raj kapoor gives a last shot at a dying age, it showed some respect from him for the Indian cinema and tells us how an actor dosn’t give up without a lasting impression. Though he was pretty much a failure after Mera Naam Joker, he made a directional portfolio for himself, by directing SSS, Prem Rog and Ram Teri Ganga Meili.

Aryamaan - T V Series

QUICK! WHO is India's answer to Gi-Joe? "Shaktimaan'' will be the prompt reply from any 10-year-old. Ask him who the President is. Chances are you'll draw a blank stare for a reply. Such is the effect of the idiot box.
Spiderman, He-man, Batman... children have always idealised these icons. We all have, at some time or the other wished for the magical powers that they possess to fulfil our deepest desires.
Sci-fi soaps have always drawn loyal fan following, especially from children. They bunk school and stay up late, to watch their favourite heroes battle it out with the sinister forces of the universe. Another name to add to the list of superheroes is ``Aryamaan''.
Did we here you say who is he? Well, Aryamaan is the latest offering of the production house, Bheeshm International, that is ready to hit the small screen. While Shaktimaan fights evil forces on earth, Aryamaan will fight his battles all over the universe in his endeavour to reclaim his kingdom.
``The serial titled `Aryamaan - Brahmaand ka Yodha' is a fantasy tale of high drama, adventure, betrayal and romance,'' said Mukesh Khanna, who plays the lead role. He was in the City for the promotion of his latest serial.
The story set in space, revolves around the warrior prince, Aryamaan, who is out to regain his lost kingdom, Thar Empire in Ariana Galaxy. But he has to confront his stepmother queen, Nasa Shukrant, Narak and others to win back the kingdom.
The special effects by Crest Communication are supposed to be of international standards. The cost of production of each episode is said to be about Rs.15 lakhs-Rs.20 lakhs.
``The astounding success of Shaktimaan has inspired us to go in for something bigger and even more appealing. Aryamaan can boast of committed performances, appealing photography, state-of-the-art special effects and slick production values,'' Mukesh Khanna told presspersons.
This is a multi-starrer with Kiran Kumar, Manjeet Kullar and Shanthi Priya in the cast. Dinker Jani directs the serial. The background score is given by Pyarelal of Lakshmikant-Pyarelal fame.
It is only time that will show whether Aryamaan will surpass the popularity that Shaktimaan boasts of. Aryamaan will go on air on Doordarshan at noon from July 14.
